Pelham has almost 40 years’ experience in investment analysis specializing in Japanese technologies, having started covering Japanese software companies for a local stockbroker in Tokyo in the 1980s. He was Japanese strategist for ING Barings as well as head of Asian Research for Pali Holdings, prior to jointly setting up Pelham Smithers Associates in 2009. As well as being responsible for PSA’s Japan Perspective and the firm’s quarterly strategy reports, Pelham’s main areas of focus are semiconductors, consumer electronics and video games.
